We are a community of opportunity, helping adults with disabilites become more resourceful, self-reliant, confident and happy in their lives. Currently we are seeking to fill two extremely important positions at the Ranch:
Resident Assistant (RA)
The Resident Assistant position at Down Home Ranch is a live-in position assisting four adult residents with mental disabilities. Applicants must be 22 years of age or older and be able to meet the demands of a busy household, teaching all aspects of domenstic life: cooking, cleaning, transportation to shopping and activities and much more. Experience in working with people with special needs (such as Down syndrome) preferred.
Benefits include a large, private bedroom with semi-private bath. Salary plus paid vacation, medical, dental and vision insurance, and optional retirement plan. Housing, food and utilities.
Resident Volunteer (RV)
The Resident Volunteer at Down Home Ranch assists Resident Assistants and other staff in providing training, encouragement, supervision and assistance to residents with special needs. Weekend and evening work required. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and have some demonstrated domestic/household competencies (cooking, cleaning, etc.).
Benefits include a monthly salary, medical, dental and vision insurance, and optional retirement plan. The RV may live in a private cedar cabin on the Ranch or in off-Ranch housing - this is a negotiable item. However, some nights the RV is required to spend in a home with four Ranchers with disabilities.
